Adult ESL Classes in Morris County

Morris School District Community Adult School
Call 973-292-2063 for more information. Classes are held at Morristown High School.
English as a Second Language classes are offered free of charge through grants by the State Department of Education. Classes are offered
at four levels on Monday and Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 pm and Saturday mornings from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon. Classes start in September
and go through April but you may join the class at any time.

Literacy Volunteers of Morris County
Call 973-984-1998 for more information. The organization is located in Morristown.
Literacy Volunteers of Morris County is a not for profit organization that provides one-on-one or small group tutoring in Basic Literacy and
English as a Second Language
to adults in Morris County.  LVMC has been serving Morris County for over 20 years. LVMC currently serves over
500 students. Students meet with a tutor for one hour a week, for a minimum of one year.  There is no cost to the student for tutoring or materials.

County College of Morris
Click on Non-credit Courses. Call 973-328-5070 for more information. The college offers classes in Morristown and on the Randolph campus.
These ESL classes require registration and fees. Classes include an English refresher class, a 14-session ESL class and business writing
for non-native speakers of English.

Morris County School of Technology Adult School Evening Programs (Click on Adult Basic Skills)
Call 973-627-4600 for more information. The school is located in Denville, but also offers classes in Dover and Morristown.
This free program is designed to improve the quality of English language and literacy skills of the foreign born adult student. The program is
sponsored by the NJ State Department of Labor. Using a variety of workbooks, practical materials such as newspapers, forms and applications,
and role-play of real life situations, students will develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Classroom activities will cover English language skills,
survival/life skills, workforce/employability skills, and family literacy. EEO/AA. Classes are offered evenings and Saturdays
from September through April at Dover High School, Morristown High School (see above) and Morris County School of Technology. You may join
the class at any time.

Morris HillsSchool of Adult and Continuing Education
Call 973-664-2250 for more information. Classes are held at Morris Hills High School in Denville.
This course is intended for those whose native language is not English, who either wish to learn the basic patterns of the language or want to improve skills they already have.  Practice will be given in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.  Placement in the appropriate class will be determined after an oral interview. Contact the school for dates and fees.

Bethlehem Church ESL Program
Call 973-366-3434 for more information. The church is located at 758 Rt. 10 in Randolph, NJ.
Weekly classes are held on Thursday mornings and Thursday evenings. In addition, ESL language lab classes are held on Mondays. All classes are free,
but there is a modest charge to cover the cost of books.

Parsippany Adult and Community Education
Call 973-263-7180 for more information. Classes are held at Parsippany Hills High School. Fall and spring sessions available.
This is an English as a Second Language Program for individuals of limited English-speaking ability. Contact school for program details, location and fees.
Daytime child care available.

Wind of the Spirit Immigrant Resource Center

Offers non-traditional ESL, literacy (English & Spanish) and citizenship classes.
Registration is required and there is a small fee.

Computer-Based English Course

Morristown & Morris Township Library
Call 973-538-2592 for more information. The library is located in Morristown.
The library has a small language lab that provides 3 levels of computerized English instruction using Rosetta Stone software. Go to the Reference Desk
to make an appointment to learn how to use the software and then use the language lab any time the library is open.

Workforce Learning Link
Call 973-361-9050 for more information. The Morris County Learning Link is located in Dover .
The Rosetta Stone Language Library is a computer-based program that is being used at the Workforce Learning Link sites primarily for
teaching English to non-English speakers. Workforce Learning Link is a holistic initiative created in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Labor
and Workforce Development (LWD) and NJN Public Television to provide adult learners instruction in reading, writing, and math; communication;
financial literacy; job search; and employability and life skills. The Morris County Learning Link is located in the One Stop Career Center at 107 Bassett
Highway in Dover and is available to welfare registrants, dislocated workers and other job seekers.

Randall’s ESL Cyber Listening Lab
Requires free RealPlayer plug-in. Listening quizzes with RealAudio and RealVideo on everything from animal sounds to American slang to academic lectures.

Idioms
American English idioms on all topics, from animals, to business to relationships.

Business English
